Position Summary
The Wealth Building Specialist provides one-on-one coaching, housing and financial counseling, group education, and outreach to empower individuals and families to build assets and achieve financial and housing stability. This role may specialize in areas like housing counseling, foreclosure prevention, financial capability, or education delivery—with flexibility to support all team functions.
You'll be part of a mission-driven team focused on improving lives and reducing barriers to financial security for underserved and rural communities.
Key Responsibilities
Client Services
Provide high-quality, client-centered counseling in housing, rental, or financial capability.
Develop budgets and action plans tailored to client goals.
Lead educational workshops and financial literacy classes.
Program Delivery
Track client progress and document services in compliance with grant and HUD requirements.
Assist with design and delivery of group education (virtual and in-person).
Support community outreach, event participation, and partner engagement.
Specialized Program Support (Depending on Certification/Assignment)
Housing Counseling: Pre-purchase, post-purchase, HECM/reverse mortgage, and rental counseling.
Foreclosure Prevention: Negotiate with lenders, submit financial packages, and help clients retain housing.
Financial Capabilities: Manage Dream$avers IDA program coordination and financial coaching.
Education: Design and facilitate classes covering homeownership, budgeting, credit, and more.
Preferred Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or GED; 1+ year of office or client services experience.
Preferred: 2+ years in case management, housing, banking, or financial coaching.Experience providing direct outreach to communities in Coos, Curry, Douglas, and Josephine counties.”

Comfort with data tracking and digital platforms; proficiency in MS Office.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Certifications (or Willingness to Obtain)
NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC) within 12 months.
HUD Housing Counselor Certification as required.
Ongoing continuing education and adherence to professional ethics standards.
Work Environment & Expectations
Travel required across SW Oregon for outreach, training, and service delivery.
Occasional evening/weekend workshops or events.
Hybrid/office setting with regular computer use and public interaction.
Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and insurable driving record.
